At 1.2 m, this is the first easel in the range that stands on the floor — a studio easel for painting sitting down.

It brings the working area up to around the eye line of a seated adult, so you pull a chair or a stool up to it rather than leaning over a table. That changes how you work: you can push the chair back, look at the whole picture from a distance, and come in again.
