The same 40 × 30 cm studio oval, cut a millimetre thicker at 4 mm — the thickest board in the range.

Thickness is the whole reason this version exists. Across a 40 × 30 cm span the extra millimetre makes for a firmer board that resists flexing when you hold it out on your arm, and it is the only palette here cut at 4 mm. The surface is the same bare, unpainted wood with the grain showing through. Wipe it while the paint is still wet, or let acrylic dry and peel it away.

• The only 4 mm board in the range; every other palette here is 3 mm.
• The largest mixing surface of the eight ovals.
• Bare wood, unpainted, with grain and tone varying from board to board.

Take this one if you paint standing with the palette on your arm; the 3 mm version is the same size and shape in a lighter board.
