About this product

Canvas paper answers a practical problem: stretched canvas is expensive, bulky and slow to store, and most of what you paint is practice. This is canvas-textured paper in a pad — the weave under the brush, none of the stretcher bars.

Three weights, one price per size.

Choose your paper

• 24 sheets, 160 GSM: the studies pad. Enough sheets to work through a colour problem properly.
• 20 sheets, 280 GSM: the middle option, and the closest here in hand-feel to a light stretched canvas.
• 12 sheets, 300 GSM: the heaviest paper here, for thicker paint and palette-knife texture.

Choose your size

• A5 — 14.8 × 21 cm: colour tests and small studies.
• A4 — 21 × 29.7 cm: the everyday size for finished small paintings.
• A3 — 29.7 × 42 cm: work you intend to mount or frame.

Practical note: The supplier has not confirmed a primer or ground. Test one sheet with your paint first; if colour sinks in more than you would like, a coat of gesso will seal the surface.
