40 × 30 cm is the full studio oval — the largest oval in the range, cut at the standard 3 mm.

It gives you the most mixing room of any oval here: space to lay out a wide palette, keep several mixes apart and still have clean wood to work into. At 3 mm it is the lighter of the two boards offered in this size. The surface is bare, unpainted wood with the grain showing through. Wipe it while the paint is still wet, or let acrylic dry and peel it away.

The only other 40 × 30 cm board is the 4 mm version: identical in size and shape, and stiffer for it. Choose this 3 mm board if the palette will mostly rest on a table.
