20 × 30 cm is the desk rectangle — a straight-edged mixing surface that keeps its footprint narrow on a crowded table.

The face is a plain flat rectangle, so you can work right across the middle and out into the corners. That is what a rectangle buys you over an oval: a table palette can be smaller and still leave you more usable surface. Bare, unpainted wood with the grain visible through the face. Wipe it while the paint is still wet, or let acrylic dry and peel it off.

• Rectangular board, 20 × 30 cm, cut 3 mm thick.
• Flat face with rounded corners and smooth edges.
• Bare wood, with no paint, colour or printing added.
• Grain and tone vary from board to board.

The 24 × 30 cm board is the same depth and 4 cm wider; the 18 × 24 cm is the one to take if space is tight.
